International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Symposium: New Directions in International Arbitration & Mediation
The Annual International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Symposium: New Directions in International Arbitration & Mediation will be held on Friday, February 19 and Friday, February 26, 2021 from 1-2:45 p.m CT. The event is organized by Washington University in St. Louis School of Law’s Negotiation and Dispute Resolution Program and Whitney R. Harris Institute, and is again co-sponsored by the American Branch and NAB YMG.
This year’s program features a keynote address by ABILA Vice-President Prof. Chiara Giorgetti’s on Looking at the Future: Reflecting on the Reform Process in Investor-State Dispute Settlement. A panel discussed led by Prof. Frédéric G. Sourgens (Washburn University School of Law) will expand on the keynote and further explore how non-arbitration modes of dispute resolution will begin to play an increased role in international dispute resolution. The second day of the Symposium will feature a panel discussion by ABILA Secretary M. Imad Khan on anticipated developments in U.S. arbitration law in light of recent developments and circuit splits on an array of arbitration topics.
