The American Branch gratefully acknowledges the support of our Patrons, who are life members of the Branch and do not pay annual dues. Patrons not only support the organization but are also actively involved in the organization’s activities.

Alona E. Evans Patrons

This level is named in honor of Alona E. Evans (February 27, 1917 – September 23, 1980), a prominent international lawyer who was active in the Branch. She served as an ILA Executive Committee member. Evans was a professor in and the chair of the Department of Political Science at Wellesley College, Massachusetts and was the first female President of the American Society of International Law.

David Dudley Field Patrons

This level is named in honor of one of the Branch’s founders, David Dudley Field II (February 13, 1805 – April 13, 1894), the great codifier of U.S. law, and subsequently, international law. Field was an American lawyer and law reformer who made major contributions to the development of American civil procedure. Read Field’s International Code here.
