Committee Mandate
The Committee on International Environmental and Energy Law is interested in International Environmental Law broadly defined: from the protection of biodiversity, fauna and flora to avoiding air pollution and the depletion of the ozone layer. The committee now also includes International Energy Law. This reflects a trend given the increasing academic and practical interest in the field. Accordingly, the committee particularly advances actions and cutting-edge research on topics concerning the interplay of international environmental protection and international energy, such as climate change, renewable energy, energy security, the Energy Charter Treaty, the social cost of carbon, challenges of nuclear energy, among others.
