ICC Committee Welcomes Rebecca Shoot as its new Advocacy Director

The Committee on the International Criminal Court (chaired by Jennifer Trahan and Megan Fairlie) is pleased to welcome Rebecca Shoot as its new Advocacy Director.

Rebecca Shoot is a Senior Technical Advisor for Global Programs at the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative and Co-Convener of the Washington Working Group for the International Criminal Court (WICC). She previously worked at Parliamentarians for Global Action as a Senior Advisor for Democratic Renewal and Human Rights and Director of the International Law & Human Rights Programme. and held various positions at the National Democratic Institute (NDI).

The ABILA Committee on the International Criminal Court engages in projects related to current issues facing the Court, as well as advocacy-related projects to strengthen engagement with the Court. To this end, the Committee has issued a number of documents on issues related to the Court, as well as advocacy letters. The Committee also annually sponsors a panel at International Law Weekend on a topic related to the ICC. It is one of the Branch’s largest and most active committees.
