Announcing: ABILA’s 2025 Student Ambassadors

May 19, 2025 Posted by ABILA MEDIA OFFICER ABILA News

We are excited to introduce our Student Ambassadors, who will assist with the work of the American Branch, particularly in the preparation for International Law Weekend 2025 (ILW 2025).

Hadja Kadiatou Bah is a first-generation Guinean-American woman born and raised in Queens, New York. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from (CUNY) John Jay College with a BA in Storytelling and Community Justice, and is currently a third- year student at Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law. Hadja has a deep passion for advancing her community through legal and social advocacy. This past year, Hadja was the Historian of her school’s Black Law Student Association, a legal intern for the NYC Department of Housing and Community Renewal’s Tenant Protection Unit. This summer, Hadja will be a legal intern at the Office of the New York Attorney General’s Civil Rights Division, and will be a student advocate in Hofstra’s Law Reform Advocacy Clinic this upcoming Fall. Hadja aspires to become an Appellate Civil Rights Attorney, where she hopes to represent clients who have faced race-based discrimination.

Vibha Bangarbale is a rising 2L at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She is a recipient of the Hugo Grotius International Law Fellowship scholarship and has served as a researcher at the Cox International Law Center. She holds an M.A. in International Affairs with a concentration in International Law and Organizations from The George Washington University and a B.A. in Global Affairs from George Mason University. At the CWRU School of Law, Vibha has taken on leadership roles, serving as Vice President of the South Asian Law Students Association and Secretary of the International Law Society. Vibha also currently serves as an Associate Editor for War Crimes Prosecution Watch, a bi-weekly publication by the Public International Law and Policy Group, which collects and analyzes key issues pertaining to the investigation and prosecution of war crimes worldwide. Through her role as an ABILA Student Ambassador, she looks forward to engaging with leading academics and practitioners while contributing to International Law Weekend 2025.

Callista Borst is a rising 3L at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She holds a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and a minor in Sociology from Southeast Missouri State University. She is also the articles editor for the Denver Journal of International Law and Policy, a participant in the Public Good Program, a law school ambassador, and a member of the Children’s Legal Advocacy Group. ABILA maintains a relationship with the Denver Journal of International Law and Policy, publishing articles from speakers at International Law Weekend. Ms. Borst will be the on-site representative at International Law Weekend 2025 to discuss publishing opportunities.

Sungwon Cho is a rising 2L at Brooklyn Law School. He is originally from Seoul, Republic of Korea, and holds a B.A. in English Literature and International Trade from Sungkyunkwan University. He will spend his 1L Summer as a judicial intern at the New York State Supreme Court and will be interning at the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR) in the Fall. He is President of the Korean American Law Student Association, Outreach Chair of the Immigration Society, and a member of the International Law Society at Brooklyn Law School. Before moving to New York, he worked as a content marketer for a K-pop entertainment and media company in Seoul. He later came to New York to pursue opportunities and further his education. He attended ILW 2024 last year and gained valuable experience. As a Student Ambassador, he aims to support ABILA members in successfully running the ILW 2025, gain insight into his areas of interest, including Public International Law and International Arbitration, and receive future career advice from experts in the field.

Hallie Green is a rising third-year JD candidate at Texas A&M University School of Law, where she is focusing her studies on issues at the intersection of technology and international business. During law school, Hallie was selected as an International Data Law Fellow, served as president of the Technology Law Initiative, and conducted research focusing on international financial regulations, assisting Professor Charlotte Ku. She holds an LL.M. in International Law with first-class honors (I.I) from Trinity College Dublin, and a Diploma in Technology & IP Law from the Law Society of Ireland. This fall, she will extern with the Office of the Legal Advisor to the U.S. Department of State. Before law school, Hallie worked and studied internationally, developing a passion for helping businesses and individuals navigate cross-border legal challenges. Hallie earned her bachelor’s degree in History and International Relations from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where she was a Lainoff Research Fellow. As a student ambassador, Hallie is excited to engage with academics and practitioners at the forefront of international law.

Chioma Menankiti is an incoming LLM candidate at Harvard Law School. She previously earned a Master’s in Economic Law from Sciences Po Paris, specializing in Global Business Law and Governance, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Politics and International Relations from the same university. Her professional experiences at law firms and international institutions—including the OECD, UNCTAD, and ICSID—along with her participation in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot have deepened her interest in international arbitration and investment law, particularly in the area of investment treaty reform. As a student ambassador, she looks forward to collaborating with ABILA members, engaging with practitioners in the field of international law, and expanding her knowledge of public and private international law issues by attending presentations at the International Law Weekend.

Jessica Moore is a rising 3L at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, with a focus on international and environmental law. She received her B.A. from UCLA in 2022, with a double major in Political Science (concentration in International Relations) and English. As a 2L at Loyola, she was a clinic student in the Loyola Law School Justice for Atrocities Clinic, where she had the opportunity to assist attorneys internationally in pursuing reparations for genocide survivors, serving as a trial monitor, and even assisting in drafting an amicus brief for the Supreme Court. She was also a 2024-25 staffer on the Loyola International and Comparative Law Review. Because of this, she has a passionate interest in exploring the complexities of international law, particularly in an environmental context in the future. She is eager as an ABILA student ambassador this year to build meaningful connections within the international legal community, exchange ideas with like-minded peers, and gain further insights into global legal issues.

Haichen Zhao is a 2027 J.D. Candidate at the University of Georgia School of Law, where she is pursuing her passion for international transactional law. Originally from China, Haichen has a diverse educational background spanning both China and the United States, including an LL.M. from Vanderbilt Law School and an M.A. in Conflict Management from Lipscomb University. This summer, Haichen will further broaden her understanding of international law by participating in the Global Governance Summer School (GGSS) in Belgium, where she will engage with global legal scholars and policymakers. She is honored to serve as a Student Ambassador for ABILA and looks forward to contributing to the development of International Law Weekend. She hopes to deepen her understanding of international legal frameworks, facilitate meaningful connections within the global legal community, and support ABILA’s mission of advancing international law education.
